Let us show you how ABA Therapy can help your child achieve their greatest potential.

What To Expect

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach used to develop a behavior treatment plan that addresses life skills and behaviors of concern. Because ABA is so individualized, each treatment plan varies greatly from client to client depending on the specific needs of the individual.

The process to begin ABA services can be different when compared to starting other types of behavioral health services. We have a multi-step process that we follow for new clients, and it can take multiple weeks to accomplish from start to finish, or longer if there is a waitlist for your desired location(s) and time(s) for services.

  1. 1. – First, families submit our Intake Form to assess eligibility for services. We are able to offer ABA in the home, school, community, and treatment center settings and we accept a variety of insurance plans. These details are all confirmed with one of our Intake team members.

  2. 2. – Eligible families are then assigned to a BCBA. Depending on availability, there may be a waitlist for a BCBA. Once assigned, families must complete treatment consent forms including a Welcome Packet. Pennsylvania families may also be required to schedule a Written Order appointment.
  3. 3. – Once a BCBA is assigned, we request authorization with your insurance company to begin the assessment. We must receive approval from the insurance company before we can schedule any appointments with your child.
  4. 4. – Once authorization is received, each child begins their program with an initial assessment with a designated evaluator. This may include a virtual parent interview, evaluation in the nearest Behavior Interventions treatment center, and appointments in the home, school, or community to develop treatment recommendations. From the results of that assessment and in collaboration with parents/caregivers, we determine the child’s areas of strengths and needs. Skills are taught according to the treatment plan as appropriate for each child.
  5. 5. – During the evaluation, our team will begin to seek a 1:1 Behavior Technician to begin working with your child. It is our goal to assign a 1:1 staff within 14 days of completing the evaluation, however, in some cases this may take longer.
  6. 6. – Once evaluation is complete, we submit the treatment plan for ongoing authorization with your insurance company.
  7. 7. – Services may begin once we receive authorization(s) from your insurance(s) and we have identified a BCBA and a 1:1 staff member for your child.

Once services are in place, reauthorization is required every 6 months or annually depending on your insurance provider. During the reauthorization, your child’s needs are reassessed to determine the appropriate recommended level of service. The reassessment is submitted to your insurance provider for a new authorization to continue services if it is appropriate for your child.
